| i know i know, 3 posts in less than a week? very odd.
but this story has got to be told.
ma and i had our wonderful day together on wednesday, but were interupted by a phone call from dad--- his first words, "now, ang, don't panic--but..." good idea dad.
4 fire engines. 4 policemen. 1 ambluance later... some idiot knocked out electric/tv/phone cables off when it got caught on his truck. there were flames. sparks. burning smells. and nosy neighbors popping their heads out their rarely used front doors.
so, you'd think this would just be fixed that day...i mean, its only 2:11, right? SIKE. some crazy-we knew this guy, through a friends cousins uncles neighbors- electician came over and did everything. here's the trick--some specialist had to approve it and pp&l had to hook it all up.
so...24+ hours later... its 3:30 today. i'm literally laying on my living room floor DYING of heat and boredom... and i hear the trucks. i spring to my feet...looking for 'pp&l'. its not pp&l. its just some other electric company. 4 trucks. 8 men. take up the entire development entrance. blasting on their stereos, none other than "ridin dirty." it gets better. some guy calls our phone (oh yeah, we have phone by now, just not anything else.), asks me to call my dad and have him talk to this "big guy" outside who's in charge.
okay. no big. call dad, go outside, look for the "big guy". they're all big. hmmm. finally i find the one in charge. steve. tatoos all down his arms. huge muscles. walks with his arms kind of bowed out, yah know? he has a white cut-off shirt on...with an arrow pointing down and the words "the legend" written above it. what. the. heck. i'm cracking up on the inside.
not over yet. the electrician didn't leave enogh pvc piping for this job to get done. they jimmy-rigged it, i'm positive. 3 pieces of pvc later, all different sizes, stolen from the developers... i'm asked to turn off the breaker. i make the guy do it. i hear the electric kick in. lights turn on. fans start spinning. computers start up.... but. we turned it off, why is this happening? woops. the guy turned it ON instead of off. so glad/lucky no one got electrified.
finally, the true pp&l guy comes. "aehhh...looks like you got this all fixed up here, then huh?" yes. thank you for all the work you didnt do.
what. a. last24hours. ps. we still dont have tv. since everythign got FRIED, they have to come do that.. tomorrow.
love. so glad if you read this whole thing.

| after paging through the newspaper HERE in lancaster, and not finding ANY futons.. i bet my mom that we could fit our futon into the van. i stormed inside. measured the futon... [i even added an inch or two to be safe] and then swiftly moved on to the van bed... 73 and 93. inches.
guess which is which.
[hint: i will be taking our futon out to school.]
holler. thanks ma. [told ya so]
